Ryan - (Charlie Sheen) Ryan arrives in New York on leave from the Navy to see Phoebe, who has chicken pox. When he arrives, he is bemused to see Phoebe with a blanket over her head and asks her to remove it. When she does, a flash of lightning and loud thunderclap from a storm outside scares Ryan in an unfortunate coincidence as it causes Phoebe to think Ryan was scared of her appearance. Ryan convinces her otherwise by kissing her despite her chicken pox, saying that he won't let it come between them. He later regrets it when he consequently gets chicken pox as well.
