• Eddie Menuek (Adam Goldberg) — After Joey moves into his own apartment in "The One Where Joey Moves Out",[e 59] Chandler gets a new roommate in "The One Where Eddie Moves In".[e 66] Eddie and Chandler have nothing in common; Eddie hates Baywatch, foosball, and sports in general, and likes to steal mannequins from Macy's and dehydrate fruit. He is also obviously mentally ill, as he at one point imagines that he and Chandler went to Las Vegas and believes that it really happened, much to the bemusement of the friends. In "The One Where Dr. Ramoray Dies",[e 67] his delusions eventually cause him to suspect Chandler of both having sex with his ex-girlfriend Tilly and killing his goldfish, so he spites him by stealing his insoles. In "The One Where Eddie Won't Go",[e 68] the madman completely forgets these events, and Chandler, freaked out by Eddie's insanity, wants him out of the apartment when he discovers the headcase watching him sleeping. Eddie agrees to leave but later his mental illness causes him to forget the conversation took place, so when Joey moves back in, they move Eddie's stuff out into the hall and pretend they have never met him. The madman falls for their bluff and leaves. He is never seen again.
Adam Goldberg later appeared in the second season of Joey as a different character.
